Recently started looking into actual decent hard-left content creators, discovered BadEmpanada. I could give more detail, but I'm more interested on any critiques from those who know him or his content better.

textbook victim blaming
he shouldnt be doxed but come on, its like making a username "123MainStSanFranciscoCA" and wondering why people are finding your address
your username is publicized, this is not the same
it is functionally the same thing
no it's not, things can be public but hidden, you're still unearthing things to expose
no argument wojak
i do not blame people for being victims
do you also doxx leftists so that they can face death threats from rightists?
you are absolving badempanada of guilt when you say that bayarea self-doxxed
i am doing nothing, i am posting on an internet message board. touch grass.

Things can be public but hidden in that while the information is technically accessible to the general public, you have to make an active effort to find this information, like combing through old social media posts and putting the puzzle together.
well yeah he functionally self-doxed.
publicizing public but not publicized information is doxxing
o
yeah let me just dig around all your accounts to find personally identifiable information it's not doxxing tho bcz it's already public amirite??
if i posted something identifiable about myself and then became a public figure in a way that could get me fired from my day job and kept using the same account then knock yourself out.
if i streak and people take a picture they're not spying on me.

Undoubtedly, it's the job of journalism to publicize information whether everyone consents to it or not. I just don't think it's appropriate to publicize the personal identifiable information of a good person (for the lack of a better word) with the hidden subtext of "go harass this guy", even if technically the information was already accessible by the general public. But if it's a bad person who is at the receiving end of the stick, I don't really care.
Ultimately, I'm not mad about the concept of doxxings, I'm just mad that it was BayArea who was doxxed and that it was by a fellow leftist!
