the point is that the government merely offering health insurance isn't socialized medicine. it's just public health insurance. it's not even socialized healthcare if the government provided the healthcare too. socialism is about who controls the government. while it's in bourgeois hands, it's not socialized.
this matters because there's a liberal push to water down what socialism means so they can offer tepid social democracy, call it socialism, and remove the teeth from the groundswell of leftist popularity.

Its polite to avoid using gendered language toward people you don't know, especially toward someone who has their preferred pronouns/gender clearly visible. Our instance also has a large representation of trans people who are often further made uncomfortable by gendered language, especially when it does not align with their identified gender.
Phrases like "you must be fun at parties", the excessive sarcastic ellipsis... and a repeated emphasis on minute details for the sole purpose of being hostile and condescending towards your fellow poster instead of responding positively or neutrally all remind me of why I left Reddit.
