to be less specific than the other commenters: I read it more as saying that from a materialist perspective, being supposedly socially liberal but fiscally conservative is well, stupid, because the social issues you claim to be liberal on have economic roots that you must attack if you want to really fix them.
The other interpretation is: Since capitalism and property and all that are per definition good, then problems from them have good causes. Those causes can never be done away with.
Often I heard such lines of thinking from well off liberal or libertarian people.
yeah idk lol I can kinda see the vagueness that allows for other interpretations, but I thought it was pretty clear that it was just poking fun at liberals who think those are fully separate areas and we can address social issues without so much as touching capitalism. or more succintly, a poking fun at "centrists"
I guess but I mean the logic in what they say is so direct lol it’s also pretty clear to me. But we are all different. I mean not you and me, we are identical.
To me it seems like he is saying "Nobody should be made homeless for being gay/trans/other identify-related reasons, however if they are made homeless for reasons of poverty I want the cops to use a railgun to remove them"
It's either saying that they dislike transphobia and bigotry but are fine with the system that causes it (capitalism) either that or they dislike not being able to get a job and are blaming immigrants for it, imo it seems like the former
Ok wait , how does capitalism create transphobia and bigotry ? Dont they exist irrespective of the system ? I mean big corps may be fuelling it , by implicity supporting transphobes but they will be the first to show themselves as pro trans rights if they get mainstream ?
i had a really good thing to send to you from a trans discord im in but the person who wrote it recently got into a major argument with one of the other members, deleted all of her messages she'd ever made to the discord and then left, so now im gonna have to like find the resources she referenced myself from memory, while im looking for them you might find this an interesting read: https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/vikky-storm-the-gender-accelerationist-manifesto
it's not exactly what you were asking about but it touches on it at points and it helped me understand my own transness in relation to capitalism a lot more
Ok so I gave this a read and it made a lot of sense , since I come from india , that traditionally and now legally too has 3 genders , the male have been dominating one , and while now the female are assimilated to the worforce to some extend the transgender community ( known as hijra) community is kept marginalised , by not allowing them to workforce ( despite of there being no law against it) they are forced to either beg or get into prostitution , which keeps them poor and the society kind of feel disgusted by them for none of their faults. This was a good read !
Am I the only only one who fails to understand this ?

This is the only way to interpret the post in my eyes tbh

I feel that’s the same thing, but in a more roundabout way lol no offence.
It’s still - issues bad, causes to issues good.
