Western Imperialist Commies: "Laddie dah, we are so progressive, we demand the rights of all people!"
Actual communist country exists and starts doing communist things
Western Commies: REVISIONISTS, GENOCIDAIRES, EEEVIIIILLL
Hexbear holds a mirror and a path to other "progressive" instances who up to these point, felt like they were the biggest game in town.
It'll be funny when the admins arrive to the "Socialism in One Country" Doctrine.
I haven't been on in a while, i saw the news about federation and it's been a total shitshow.
I shouldn't say I'm surprised. I've interacted with so many normies the last few months and they are all like a homeless-encampment-down-the-street away from calling for genocide.
America is a truly deeply fucked up place with very few people doing actual self-introspection or legitimate critical analysis of the society in which they participate - often willingly and uncritically-. Why would any expectation that posting, a mindless numbing activity for your avg. internet consumer, would be any different.
Federation has gone better than expected imo. There were fears that we'd get overwhelmed and this would no longer be a refuge for trans/queer folks, and while other supposed queer ally instances have been a bit shit, the msun thrust of that worry hasn't happened.
It's the exact opposite: other instances can't handle our posting power. One defeferated before we even federated. Others are threatening to do so based on largely made-up or big baby reasons.
It's great.
I wanna clarify that it's been a total shitshow for other instances. Not for us.
It's extremely funny that their excuse for defederation is emoji sizes, when that's a fix you could collaborate on and would benefit the entire federated system. Having free, high quality, discord-level emojis without having to enter into some gamified or subscription based system should be a net plus - instead they are looking at it as an excuse to defederate.
The constant accusations of russian shilling are unsurprising, to the point of boredom.
Haha, totally. I love the emote discourse
