The Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) was established on this day in 1919. CPUSA provided legal aid to the Scottsboro Boys, helped poor Southern farmers form sharecropper unions, and promoted communist ideas within the U.S.

The party was established after a split in the Socialist Party of America following the Russian Revolution, and initially operated underground due to the Palmer Raids, a series of anti-immigrant, anti-labor, and anti-communist raids conducted by Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer.

CPUSA was an early opponent of segregation and racial discrimination, giving legal aid to the Scottsboro Boys and helping poor black farmers in the South organize sharecropper unions. Because of this, the party had a strong presence in Alabama in the 1930s. This history is detailed in "Hammer and Hoe: Alabama Communists during the Great Depression" by historian Robin D.G. Kelley.

We need them to start making all meds be addictive and give you withdrawals

I mean, it's the withdrawals giving me the brain zaps. Idk, I'm clearly dependent due to adverse effects from not redosing on time, but it's not addictive in the sense there's no compulsion to redose? Besides bad things happening if I don't, there's no real 'incentive' I guess, to dose?

Idk meds are a fuck and I should just do better with my chores (dosing)

like, at least adhd meds get me zooted and make me remember things

these little square orange fuckers haven't given me an up since like the first month, now they just give me mild ability to not heem myself and a fucking zubat using supersonic if i go more than 24.5 hours between doses

Hahaha fr fr. First month felt like low-dose mdma, thereafter I just don't want to heem to the same degree.

Tbh the only reason I would want to get off it is to take mdma again, which doesn't sound like a solid reason to cease y'know?

Then again, self administered ECT every time I miss a dose is fucking annoying, do not recommend

real. a part of me like 5 times a year (new years, music festivals and a trip away or something) goes "damn, I wish i could do pingers again just once, with everyone, and actually feel it again and/or without dying".

and then I quickly remember that I'd probably need a 6-8 week taper off just to keep my body operating before I even get to the mdma, then deal with the 0 meds and the comedown before getting back on and i'm just like "nah fuck this to hell, I can't plan my fucking week so i'm not planning 2 months of pain management just to have one good night"
