Anybody want to commiserate on something that sucks?

    Why is there a gpa requirement to graduate. If i collect the required number of credits why do i have to go back and pad the funny number to get the piece of paper

      Because people need to have a number to lord over others. I hate that academia is competitive like this when pass/fail would convey just as much information

        The university I went to used to not have a grading system; instead the professors would write a summary of your performance. Of course they had to change it because since there was no GPA graduates weren't taken seriously when applying for jobs...While my classes had to be graded, I did have one professor that still wrote up a summary for me. It was so thoughtful, I wish that every class was still made to even if they did have to give a letter grade.
