I thought they were a couple, but its not like the story was memorable or compelling enough to make any interpretation worth remembering. It was fun though
i think the subtext was written bigger than the actual text on that one. if lara were a dude, i don't think anyone would be doubting the romance, but some straight people are incapable of seeing gay love no matter how blatant it is.
