I see them pop up every once in while using some sort of personal definition of liberal, and claiming everyone else in the world but them is brainwashed.

They are very firm that libs are not what the rest of the world says they are, but they are a little vague on what they think it means

Ngl this looks to me like a non-native english speaker mixing up Liberal with the version of Libertarian that's used a lot outside of the US (particularly in Europe) to describe more anarchist-leaning politics. It'd explain the claim that "Liberals are Capitalist" is a yank-centric position, and from a quick glance at their post history it seems that they might be from Finland.
