          I said what I said

To me, the Picrew avi says, "I'm going to lecture you about issues of social justice. Also I secretly work at Lockheed Martin"

As am I, and can remember when a very popular malevolent white girl sic'd her hordes of three-nos on queer spaces explicitly not meant for them with picrews; so this whole "hating picrews is just proxy-homophobia" is setting off all the alarm klaxons

Plenty of queer people hated on Guardian Spice when it came out because it was the hip new thing

Sorry fam, I have no idea what this is aside from the brief Google search I just did and even less idea what the discourse around it is

All I know is that whenever I see a Picrew avi, I'm likely to see the most dogshit take next to it (see above). It's not that I think it's like cringe in itself or whatever. Anecdotal evidence to be sure, but there you have it.

And what's your point? (Some) queer people like them? So what? A lot of queer people like Pete Buttigieg and being racist on Grindr

I've started writing off all picrew avatars as fake queers, Langley inhabitants, and NAFO dogs at this point. Feels real three-nos, keffals, blahaj.zone adjacent.

Refreshing that you can finally admit that the psyops taste like psyops. Their #1 problem is (for them), they fade out of cultural relevance so easily and immediately get re-examined in hindsight at which point people notice the soullessness of it all and think "hey what the fuck who put this con artist on my timeline"

It's just pure contrarianism. It's like they ran an algorithm to decide what will be the least popular political takes and out spits that abomination.
