Whilst I concede that standard Tabasco is just red dyed vinegar, I will fight to the death on the hill that Tabasco Habanero is a genuinely excellent sauce and I’m mad I can’t buy it in large bottles in my country.

Tabasco is the only US product I (very) regularly buy. It isn't that strong so you've got to put like 20% of a small bottle each meal but I've tried many hot sauces and it's the one I prefer, specifically because of its taste. Also many others I've tried, like Sriracha, were very salty.

Enough people have bullied me about it for me to conclude I probably have shit taste in that respect but I don't care, I like my tabasco.

Once they had the green variety at my local shop so I tried it out of curiosity but that one is shit, I don't recommend it.

Yeah red Tabasco definitely has its place in my cupboard. I just consider it a spicy vinegar not a hot sauce. But in its role as spicy vinegar I do use it all the time to add a light heat to a vinaigrette or when macerating shallots etc.

I actually like the Chipotle variant. Decently smoky.

Never seen that on sale here, just standard red and if your lucky green. I’ve had to hunt to find the Habanero variant. If I see the Chipotle version I will give it a shot.
