This com is criminally underutilized. I'm Wake. I've been using this name for months on vrchat/elsewhere, and it felt appropriate to use it here.
I guess I've been here since the subreddit. I have a bunch of hobbies, most of which have been ADHD hyper fixations at some time. I like video games, movies, and I really like to listen to music. I especially enjoy finding new music.
I work in an industrial setting where I diagnose, and repair industrial machines and automatic systems. So I really like to figure things out. I've been taking things apart to see how they work since I was a little kid.
Most of the video games I play now are casual co-op games I can play with my friends like lethal company, valheim, phasmophobia. I also play a lot of driving and racing sims. But more than anything, the game I enjoy the most is vrchat.
I have a weekly vrchat adventure with one of my best friends. I guess you can say I'm an honorary furry at this point, since all my vrchat avatars are furry. I really enjoy editing and tweaking my avatar until it's exactly how I want it.
I changed accounts because about a week ago I realized I was much more trans than I thought I could ever be. That I'd been lying to, and hiding from myself for a decade. It's incredible how much transphobia you can absorb and internalize while also being gay and extremely lgbtq positive. So I wanted to make a new account to grow into. A nice delineation so to speak.
I guess at this point I'm just rambling so howdy, it's been so nice to have you all in my life. And wherever you are, know I love you and you're appreciated.
Yeah it was the shutoko map that got me into ac1. I've never tried out the GTR games, they look really good. In AC1, I've been really enjoying using vintage cars on some of the fan made vintage courses. Something about cars like the Alfa 33 being rung out on a gorgeous track really gets me going.
Hell yeah, I hear you! Vintage racing >>>> modern racing by far. Check this Youtube Channel out (In case you haven't seen it yet), this guy features a lot of classic and vintage content, from roleplaying as a driver in the 1950s to driving 1920s era race cars or historic NASCAR races, he's pretty chill too.
AC1 does the vintage part really well, especially with modding. I just wish I was a better driver though lol, because these machines are really hard to drive.
That channel is cool as fuck. I watched that isle of man tt vid and its so cool how he just kinda explains exactly what he's doing. I love when other races do that because it help me learn better ways to approach tracks myself. Especially on long road courses.
You're telling me! I've been trying to get the Alfa 33 Stradale around Battenbergring in under 4:50. But that track is so easy to mess up on. It's absolutely gorgeous, but there are so many little things to get hung up on. So the margin of error is so tight in some sections. And that Alfa is such a rewarding car to drive.
I have a vid of me posting my fastest lap around that track with the Alfa, if your interested.
