I went through a phase where I listened to a ton of it and encountered nothing concerning and was enjoying it quite a bit, then there were a couple where Liam and Alice said some stupid radlib nonsense and I guess went completely feral when they got a little pushback.
Then they brought on Adam Something, a "former Nazi" to shit all over the Soviet Union and other eastern bloc countries and whined continuously about tankies. I told myself "I listen to other podcasts whose hosts aren't actual communists, I can just skip to other episodes" but found that all the episodes after that had one moment or another of Liam and Alice whining about
I followed Adam Something until the Ukraine war started, and then found out he’s completely bonkers. He’s made at least two videos on how a nuclear retaliation against Russia might be good, actually.
I am once again asking the left to stop chasing after fascists and putting their efforts into converting fascists but instead to put their efforts into closely vetting the people who they allow to become leaders.
We've really gotta stop glamourising ex-fascists and start viewing them with a deeply critical lens.

I'm happy to give golf claps to converts who get paraded around as proof that people can change etc. but there's a reason why the black community doesn't immediately stick the ex-Klansmen who had a change of heart a fortnight ago into a position of leadership; the left needs to be warm and welcoming to people who are new but there's a massive difference between extending hospitality and appointing people to positions of leadership and throwing tons of cash their way.

Yeah, I'm all for converting Fascists and they have a role in preventing people from becoming fash. But You Do Not Let Them Become Cadre. Or propagandists outside a narrow sphere of anti fascism. They're simply not politically reliable.
