As opposed, of course, to all of the times they indirectly fuck us over by upholding an unjust system.

Don't ever call police. 9/10 times they will turn on you, even if you're the victim. Police have one function, to investigate crimes, charge you with crimes, and arrest you for crimes. It doesn't matter if you did it or not. They will abuse you, detain you, and arrest you. They have no obligation to help you in any way.

    NEVER call the police!

Watch "the civil rights lawyer" and "audit the audit" on youtube, if you need to learn more, they go into case law, it's worth watching and knowing your rights and knowing the best way to deal with them: Record, record, record, invoke your constitutional right to silence and against search and seizure, and shut the heck up, once you invoke your right, do not talk no matter what, except to request a lawyer.

If police call you, don't answer. If police show up at your door, don't answer. If police are engaged in traffic stops, find another route. Don't even look at them, I've literally been detained and investigated for looking at police.

Also, if you drive, get a dashcam.

Me personally, when I was still naive, I had video of a couple kids come by my house, and push down a newly planted tree (I bought and planted it), they pushed it down at the base, and snapped it off. I called the police to give them the video and they started accusing me of doing something to the kids to make them retaliate. I picked up on this very quickly and carefully ended the conversation. By the way, they had no interest in taking the video from me, and told me outright they weren't going to pursue the case, but they sure were a bunch of assholes to me for evidently calling them to do the job they agreed to do.
