This post was a bit that was partially an opportunity to shit on Australia and partially inspired by this amazing comment I came across on social media on a post about Punxsutawney Phil and they said something to the effect of:
"Could you imagine the kind of shit they'd say about Groundhog Day if it was something that took place in the global south and was celebrated by BIPOC people?"
I can tell that's going to be one of my Roman Empires for a long time to come and I wanted to do a little satirical pop-anthropology pisstake as a tribute to this idea.
