The lurkers if you will. Well I am a lifelong lurker because I think I recognized before I had the vocabulary that a lot of posting on social media ultimately amounts to alienation from creative labor. The feeling of bleakness from that and a sort of shame about the idea of trying to garner attention towards myself have kept me from ever being a committed poster.
This space has been the only time I have ever felt like it’s really worth being a part of this.
The way in which you folks have honed your rhetorical edges against each other and practice libs in the dunk tank really shows. Those muscles are strong and they hate that to outside observers you are almost always the more cogent and coherent side.
But the absurdity and humor are even more potent weapons because it breaks the tension and gives people room to examine preconceived notions. There is a degree to which inspiring a laugh is almost like a concession of a point. They cannot stand that we’re more factually grounded AND funnier!
All this is a long winded way of saying that they cannot stand that you folks are funnier, more grounded, and have way better emojis.
