Former U.S. Rep. Peter Meijer withdrew from the GOP primary contest for U.S. Senate in Michigan, and Flint Mayor Neeley dropped his U.S. House bid.

I was wondering about that. Illinois has a history of local moguls having overwhelmingly dumb politics (The Oberweis family, the Uhleins) so I assume that goes for most places?
