I watched a streamer watch the first episode of this and genuinely the average audio, as in the sound you would most likely hear if you clipped one random second from any point in the episode, is the main character whining about something. That's my primary impression of him as a character. He's elementally a whiny fuck who can't be chill about anything to the point where if they were building him up over the course of the show as a family annihilator type it would be a sort of genius commentary on the inward-curdling militaristic wrath of the American petty tyrant. Instead we're invited to sympathize with him for some reason, I think, by people who don't realize that's what they're like, or do but think it's cool.
