With thousands of people in the video game industry losing their jobs - including developers who made successful games - I think my energy is best spent elsewhere. Namely, making an endless series of 90-minute-long videos in which I call every new popular piece of media “woke” unless it features Gina Carano looking straight into the camera and saying slurs. And see? That’s a woman, so you can’t even call me sexist because I can name at least one.

It seems at least that the current generation of gamers don't really care or are outright exhausted by this shit given it's mainly a bunch of racist chuds trying to keep their culture war going even though gaming is a mainstream revenue flow now and so doesn't have (as much) of the creepy shit one could find in the 90s and early 2000s era (anybody else remember the frat dude bro Mountain Dew booth babe adverts?)

So much worse: Sweet Baby Inc is a company that basically advises on and edits your game's script or whatever for sensitivity, more or less paid inclusivity advice. Gamers got mad.

Fascist gamers immediately escalated to Sweet Baby being the most important company in DEI, and their business model being extorting companies for fake consulting under threat of using shills to cancel them.

It was genuinely impressive how fast they got there. Usually it takes a few weeks to froth up, and something has to stick around a long while before it can be the illuminati of whatever conspiracy corner. This took like a day or two, as far as I could tell.
