I disagree that Luffy is an anarchist or a revolutionary. His personality and "political views" are deliberately childish (because One Piece is primarily marketed to children), and boil down to "I don't like bad people and am powerful enough to punch them in the face". That simplistic view makes him the hero because One Piece is written in a way that everyone else is an asshole and where a return to the status quo is unambiguously good. Also the whole defending multiple monarchies thing.

Also the whole defending multiple monarchies thing.

Marxists would critically support a monarchy if it was a progressive step under the conditions.

I disagree that Luffy is an anarchist or a revolutionary.

He is absolutely on a journey where he is building up the forces that will fight in revolutionary alliance alongside him through good deeds he's done to make these people his allies. Whether he intended for that to occur or not it is what is happening. He will be thrust into the role of revolutionary.

Well also one piece doesn't really have some sort of understanding of anything real. Cause the author doesn't have a grasp anything beyond a surface level at times. Things are presented in the story which are borrowed from history. But it doesn't arrive at a resolution as to how to resolve the contradictions.

That's like reading nixonland and calling perlstein some revolutionary. Nah perlstein an annoying liberal.

As for one piece, no shit its about setting monarchies up. Cause that's what it is and always was. Its a comic for teens.
