    They have been so used to getting everything they want for so long that they are unable to imagine a situation that doesn't resolve in them getting their maximalist demands fulfilled.

    Trade? That's when I get to plunder the world for free.

    Diplomacy? That's when I tell people what I want and they give it to me.

    War? That's when we bomb someone back to the stone age without even getting a dent in our multi-billion dollar death machines.

      Out of curiosity, what do you guys generally think of international trade and the tariffs (or lack thereof) that go with it?

            Good idea cause the views depend heavily on context, what countries are involved, and the existing trade relationships between the countries.

              It mostly highlights how I view things. I'm not a huge fan of states using their citizens to fight over shit, so I have pretty reductio type views.

                That's fair, I don't imagine most anyone here would disagree with the sentiment. But the next question is to start asking why it is that states end up fighting, right?
