[CW: Discussion of Dog Meat + Sinophobia]

That shit pisses me off! Recently, a vegan buddy of mine sent me this reel on Instagram of Chinese people preparing to use dogs for food. A lot of the commenters seemed extremely upset, some posting sad and sympathetic comments and some that were just outright frustrated and angry.

I came across this one humongous piece of shit that went as far to say that Chinese people are "basically a barbaric different species" because of their dog meat consumption.

It had me like - first of fucking all:

    1. I know this fucker is an omni. For him to go as far to call another group of people a "different species" for doing the same exact shit he does was a level of unawareness that could not keep me chill.
    2. My partner is Chinese and a vegan. For this reason, sinophobia strikes me pretty damn personally. Considering this, it's ironic how my partner is definitely being less barbaric than this loser is by his own logic even though she is Chinese!

Also, the Reddit shit where people express sentiments of wanting to kill dog eaters when Redditors also get very pissed when vegans are "pushy" to them: the edgiest and lowest form of cringe.

I started dubbing this mentality "dognitive dissonance."

I feel like if you're going to eat meat, you should be up for at least trying dog meat. Otherwise how can you justify your dietary habits? What makes dogs special?

It's not like massive unaddressed contradictions is anything new for liberals though.

I started dubbing this mentality "dognitive dissonance."

      That's quite good
