    preaching to the choir i know. My brother is a conspiracy theorist, and I struggle to have the confidence that these lunatics have, the certainty with which they scream and yell about deep states and cabals. So I try to be nuanced. But you try to be nuanced, you try to remain cool headed, and reality is like blaring klaxon horns at you, that the world is on fire. It's so depressing.

      It's more of a lack of confidence, it's a fear response that leads to self-victimization and boatloads of nihilism and depression. This is also a feature of the USian system. They're not lunatics, they're incredibly, incredibly scared but have no theory nor understanding of history to help them.
