I thought the big thing with these ninth gen consoles was that they were powerful enough upon release that's there's no need for a mid gen refresh this time.
sigh literally just got my PS5 like 8 months ago.

Nerds are just the dumbest type of consumer, who will buy anything they can as long as it's got their favorite companies name on it. Any plans for a "pro" versions certainly happened during the entertainment bubble that happened during COVID, which now that it has burst, kinda makes me wonder if they won't just shelve the thing. There's also another purpose to any "pro" model in that it allows Sony to advertise any multiplatform game to play "best on PlayStation"
