Game Informer has announced it is shutting down after 33 years after GameStop reportedly told the publication it was "closing immediately, they were all laid off, and they would begin receiving severance terms."

Can't say I'm too surprised, though. I always liked looking at Game Informer and Nintendo Power back in the pre-internet days.

    Yeah, it was the most recent one, so it was freshest in my memory hole

    But yeah, the big studios are grinding their workers to a pulp and then firing them

    It's fucking gross

      It's rough, too, because it hits AAAs and indie studios are also struggling to get funding. We gamers deserve the slop trough running dry, but the workers don't deserve this
