The purpose of a system is what it does. The collection of institutions, social forces, geographical space, and resources commonly referred to as America, The US Constitution, the three branches of the federal government, the states, their constitutions, their various branches of government, the arbitrary borders which divide and subdivide them, their laws, the plethora of bureaucracies and military/paramilitary organizations chartered to execute them, the corporations, the media, the civic organizations, the schools, the logistics and communications infrastructure, the physical economy, are all part of a system. The system which produces the world you see outside your window.

The changes which need to be made to this system are so fundamental and profound that it simply doesn't make sense to keep calling the end result America. It's a caterpillar / butterfly situation.
