I don't go looking for it, if nothing else, so I can relate. Admittedly when it comes my way I can't look past though, though it's a miserable experience.

People won't need to have seen these things to bear witness (not necessarily). Though I suppose it absolutely helps that millions if not billions around the world have. But in the end we will all have to bear witness to future generations, if not of what we've seen in Gaza, of what we know for credible fact, of what we have seen of the directly complicit western regimes, media, institutions, and individuals...

I'd said this before Oct. 7th, but all the more so now seeing ongoing industrialized genocide- we all must ensure that humanity knows (hopefully "remembers") the western regimes and imperialism for what it truly is, for its barbarism and inhumanity. We all have to remind future generations; we must put the monstrosities of the American empire/Manifest Destiny, of Zionism and other settler-states (including those still actively engaging in far more subtle genocides and suppression), of the other European empires and the world system of western capitalism (imperialism and neo-imperialism) in their rightful place in the garbage bin of history, right next to Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, among others.

Honestly, I think that humanity is doomed on so many levels if we cannot do this. I'm optimistic (barring the possibility of WW3 and nuclear war, both of which are likely- yet more reasons to ensure the lessons are carried on) for the global south at least, despite these failings having destroyed so many nations and currently leading to the destruction of others still (like Ukraine, the Philippines, or Argentina) but here in the imperial cores if society cannot learn we are truly and wholly doomed (and honestly will deserve it).
