If I wanted to watch pornography, I would open up pornhub, brazzers, or for hentai, joi database, literally anything

Come on, Cons, make your own ORIGINAL media with that sex shit... BUT don't impose it on every media you consider liberal...

Too many people are so pornbrained that they think it's "puritan" to not want every fucking thing to be pornographic at all times.

I watch porn. I have my treats and problematic favorites. But for fuck's sake is it so "puritan" to want to watch a mystery, a comedy, a drama, or the like without awooga or for that matter awooga libertarian-alert hypersus shoveled in to feed hogs and make smuglords feel like "grown-ass adults" for consuming it?

          Many such cases.

One former Hexbear had a meltdown once by declaring and doubling down on all western animation being "for babies," direct quote, and of course that user had an anime waifu avatar. I tried to argue, but then what I got back was "oh by all means UlyssesT tell us how much you like Dragon Tales too."

I'm glad the meltdown lead to a ban. rip-bozo

"Grown-ass adult" mentality is so fucking immature.

Shit I saw some people talk about they wish it was like the older days with more sex scenes etc but there are reasons why nowadays there are intimacy coordinators on the set. Not even against the scenes but I read that sex scenes declined by a large margin 40% or so.... I imagine part of the reason is that several actors/actresses may or may not be comfortable with such scenes. Add while art can take you out of your comfort zone Idk

Sometimes the coerced abuse is right on set with everyone watching, using contractual bullying or the like to distress the actor. Emilia Clarke had to go through that on the Gambo show, the distress on her face was real during those early awooga libertarian-alert hypersus scenes, and the trust fund hogs running the show got so mad when she renogotiated her contract that they eventually character assassinated her in a sort of literal "assassinate the character after cheapening the arc of a SV victim" way.

I fucking hate that show so much and anyone talking about how "sexy" it was is deeply sus to me.

I remember reading somewhere that when Momoa realized they didn't have a robe ready for Clark between takes of the sex scenes he started screaming at the director to get her something to wear between takes.

you think that may have something to do with it? The nudes she did became less and less each season.

She was coerced into her early scenes by contractual obligation and the hogs were oinking because of her visible distress, including on set.

I think the expanded use of intimacy coordinators are a post-Gambo consequence, though the actual trust fund hogs that pushed Emilia Clarke into that didn't get punished in any way because rich cishet white men.

I remember the backlash when Penn Bagley said he didn't wanna do racy scenes on the show You. Said he wasn't as comfortable about it since he was married. Mfs called him all kinds of shit even called him MAGA etc. Talking about "he has no self control" "his marriage must not be strong" "he probably isn't comfortable" people insinuating he has backwards views of women. All this sounded to me was like the gamer version of a show like this.

That's the first time I heard of that particular moment; sounds like the flipside of that "being a sex pest is sex positivity" shit that Louis CK and Joss Whedon were pushing on set.

There was a time Ricci refused to a scene like the director wanted to which is telling because she's done plenty of sex scenes. The director threatened to sue her but she stood her ground.

There's this weird fucked up puritan/pornbrain hybrid mentality that sees any actor that got naked on set as having surrendered the right to ever say no to doing le sexy sex scenes in the future.

Similarly, entire careers have sunk in the past because someone who was "le sexy" got naked and afterward was suddenly not seen as tantalizing enough or whatever.

Halle Berry's career took a dive after Swordfish, for example.

Yeah. The Madonna/Whore thing runs extremely, extremely deep. Once you're "tainted" you're tainted forever.

It's something I really admire about Miley Cyrus - as soon as she was out from under Disney's thumb she got a flamethrower, burned down her squeaky clean Hannah Montana character, and never apologized.

Angelina Jolie somehow escaped that terrible stigma by getting naked early and then just owning it and continuing on. Not sure how much of that was luck and how much of that was fighting like hell.

Same deal with Monica Belluci, but she's not exactly Burgerland focused.

Eugh. I found out one of the sand snakes was put in a nude scene either literally the day she turned eighteen or the day after. She was an adult, she had the right to do that, but the directors? Are you fucking serious? I can't believe anyone was willing to work with them after that. Idk, maybe the actress enthusiastically agreed to the idea, but ffs give the woman time to recover from her birthday hangover!

It's like those old "countdown timers" webpages people used to maintain counting down until the Olsen twins were legally adults or something. Just 1 - what the fuck? And 2 - why the fuck was that acceptable?

Like I'm not gonna front. I'm a grown ass them; I have no issue with sexuality, even to a raunchy, near-pornographic degree involved in artistic pursuits. Some of my favorite fictional novel series are two steps from being straight-up erotica if not for the not sexually-related issues of the overarching plots they have; we don't do that Tipper Gore shit here.

But I would never let a conservative, a republican, an alt-righter, or what have you, anywhere near a pen or keyboard for it.
