As a kid in the '90s, I had absorbed all of the jokes about Monica. As I grew up I didn't really examine it or think about it.
Now, as I'm hitting middle-age, I look back on that time. All of the tasteless jokes, all of the anger towards this woman, and I feel nothing but burning hatred for the Clinton media machine.
Yes she was an adult, but she is a victim. Not just of sexual assault, not just of the kind of workplace sexual harassment that would make Bill O'Reilly say "woah dude, calm down" - but of a media machine that will happily throw any of us into the wood chipper in order to protect their access to powerful people.
