President-elect Donald Trump has picked Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to be his next secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, a choice that would add to Trump’s list of provocative picks whose confirmation processes will test the loyalty of Senate Republicans.
RFK announcement puts a fine point on something I've been trying to articulate and is a theme of the Trump years. It's something I've wrestled with and that a lot of Dem messaging has gotten wrong. Part of what Trump does is constantly divide the country along the lines of pro-system and anti-system.
And because Trump is such wrecking ball, you end up in this defensive posture of pro-system, pro-status quo. HHS/FDA is a great example.
Of COURSE the US food and drug system is captured and bad in a million different ways: from nutritional recommendations, which are often laughably wrong or corrupted to our outrageous regime of drug patenting etc.

Oh yeah, only Trump does that.🙄
