Théophile Ferré was a leader of the Paris Commune who was executed by the French government on this day in 1871. Ferré personally authorized the execution of the archbishop of Paris and was the first of 25 Communards to be executed.

Little is known about Ferré's early life, before his participation in the Paris Commune. After Paris was seized by revolutionaries in March 1871, Ferré served on the Commune's Committee of Public Safety, a body given extensive powers to hunt down enemies of the Commune.

On April 5th, the Commune passed a decree that authorized the arrest of any person thought to be loyal to the French government in Versailles, to be held as hostages. Prominent figures arrested included a Catholic priest Georges Darboy and the archbishop of Paris. The Commune hoped to exchange their hostages for Louis-Auguste Blanqui, a revolutionary and honorary President of the Commune, imprisoned by the state.

Following the events of the "Bloody Week", in which the French government summarily executed many suspected Communards, Ferré authorized the execution of several hostages, including Darboy and the archbishop.

After the resistance of the Commune collapsed, Ferré was captured by the army, tried by a military court, and sentenced to death. On November 28th, 1871, he was shot at Satory, an army camp southwest of Versailles. He was the first of twenty-five Communards to be executed for their role in the Paris Commune.

One thing I worry about is that caffeine may have caused/partially caused my eye issues

    what are your eye issues?

It's weird to think about that it's been almost 2 years since it happened to me

So, one day, I was just chilling, reading something on my laptop when this huge spot, kinda like you would get from looking at a really bright light too long except I couldn't see through it at all and it seemed to flash when I blinked, just appeared in my right eye and only my right eye. Then when it didn't go away after a couple of minutes I started to panic. Reallllllyyyy badddd nighttt. It got smaller but never went away xwx

I went to the emergency room the next day and they couldn't find anything wrong with me :( I've seen a few ophthalmologists since and they couldn't find anything either. Shortly after the first one I started getting smaller temporary blind spots. Sometimes they last for up to an hour or even just a few seconds and I tend to get them anywhere from multiple times a day to a few times a week (mostly the latter these days thankfully, at least if I don't count the ones that last a few seconds lol). I had health anxiety before but omg, it's so much worse when it's real and undeniable lol. I was pretty sure that this time was it, and I'm really dying but thankfully whatever is wrong with me seems to have stabilized. I still have the permanent one and the transient ones still bother me but they aren't too bad as long as I'm treating myself okay (getting enough sleep, eating okay, not stressed, etc). I have noticed other stuff but I'm not sure how much of it was there before cuz before this I never worried about my eyes :( Stuff like noisy vision, I think I have some new floaters now, or like sometimes if I'm rly stressed my whole vision will go extremely noisy like an old TV for a second or less than a second if I turn my head too fast. Have seen a neurologist too, got an MRI that looked fine, haven't been back lol (I should do that)

My permanent one is off of my central vision (it's like a teardrop shape in my upper right paracentral vision of right eye). If I cover my left eye and maneuver it right I can cover up probably about half of your profile picture or almost the whole bear symbol from where I'm sitting with my laptop rn. I can compensate very well with my left eye now but when I did that, is like your profile pic or the bear disappeared and got replaced with a gray splotch :( I'm probably very lucky that I have 20/20 vision otherwise and that it's so small cuz I have seen much worse stories online. I never got diagnosed with anything (I should probably go back and have them look again, there's specific imaging I wanna ask for) but I did find this group online and it's scary how they have such similar stories to me lol. "It just happened one day and no doctor can figure it out. I have [exact same symptoms]". There's like 2 things it could be but I think they're really rare disorders so I don't wanna say it cuz idk how much it would doxx me lol. They are correlated (although this is disputed I think) with heavy caffeine use. Idk, is like my retinal vasculature is kinda cooked or something :/

Idk, it seems like only recently I am learning to live with this and that I can live with this lol. Very scary stuff :( but am feeling less like a walking corpse these days. My health is getting in general lately, maybe this will get better too. It feels like I kinda lost the last 2 years to an abyss of suffering but has been better recently :3

      Sry for length of this

Also what is your new profile pic :3 (if I can ask)

I recognized the last from Metal Gear but this one I don't know hehe
