There's this author who went to North Korea, collected every single propaganda pamphlet and book he could get his hands on, and came back to America and wrote the history of Kim Il-Sung, as explained by the propaganda. He doesn't play it for funny, he distills all the material into a coherent whole and wrote a straight history. It's a hilarious book.
