I've got some running shoes I took from my dad a few years ago that are now getting torn. I've mostly used them for walking but recently I have started actually running again.

So I figure this would be a good time to have shoes only for running but I'm not sure what to look out for. Let me know if you have any suggestions and thanks.

If you need something for race day you can still get lighter ones. This way you can get most of your training and impact in shoes which lessen the load on your tendons. Obviously some of the running before the race should be done in the lighter shoes just to see how they are.
