    No, it's very clear why people use Spotify. They use Spotify because they've heard of it and it's pre-loaded on their phones. Most people dont think at all about what the company behind the app does behind the scenes.

      As always, the only factors that matter at all for any media platform's success is content availability and ease of access. This is why every video streaming service is scrambling and falling apart in slow motion: nobody wants 15 services. Nobody wants to deal with having to do a million different weird steps to access content.

      "Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem," is a corollary of this. Everyone just wants one click access to everything in one place: nothing else really matters. They will put up with a shocking amount of bullshit for that one thing. It sucks, but people just don't really care.
