I was always into politics since middle school - I did literally all the nerdy extracurriculars, student govt, etc. It took until college for me to transition from a libertarian (my primary views in HS were anti-war, pro-legalization, and pro-same-sex marriage so libertarians made some sense to my young brain at the time) to soc-dem. Then it took the whole Obama admin for me to realize we needed a major overhaul. By the time Trump won I was full blown ML. What was your journey?
Bush v. Gore baby. The mask came off of electoralism right then and there
When I was like 13 someone told me communism is when everyone has the same wage, I thought that sounded cool and good, and here we are
I'd say always, at least to some degree. Socialism for about a decade.
I see the past decade as a good starting point because Americans tend to have major political shifts as a result of presidential elections. We've had 3 in the last ten years so that seemed like a decent starting point. Also decades become smaller the older you get :agony-soviet:
Well I got a masters degree in political science.....
Probably turned into politics in 9th grade when my history teacher opened my eyes to communism and what Marx actually said as opposed to the propaganda I’d constantly been fed growing up in the Cold War.
Pretty much got into politics in the past few years. I was firmly anti-capitalist for around three years and before that I was just into conspiracies.
