Yep we just talked about it, we are going to reorganize and use /finance for this instead of like meme stocks and shit. Poverty finance is way more relatable
i just had an idea, what if we repurposed the shrek pornography comm into the povertyfinance comm? This solution kills two stones with one bird so the mods don't need to go through the trouble of making a new comm, and we can also get rid of the shrek pornography comm
I like the idea of a povertyfinance, but I don't like the name. c/cheapliving or c/frugal sound better to me. But either way, it's a good idea for a comm. Practical advice, not necessarily political but still compatible with leftism, and it those subreddits are popular on R*ddit.
I’m totally in support of c/povertyfinance too. Mods we need more poverty discussion comms and less terminally online comms.

What will that actually look like? Will you guys remove stonk posts and/or encourage them to another sub?
The WSB stuff was really annoying when it took over hexbear for a weekend, but since it's been contained to c/finance it hasn't been bothersome.
Not sure yet but I agree it was very annoying when it wasn’t contained
What about shoplifting? Is that worthy of a separate comm or would it fit in with c/povertyfinance?
Personally I believe that should be fine on the finance sub we we’ve yet to work it out.
