Title. I’ll mod it. I just wanna talk about people stealing shit.
I stole a dozen roses and a t shirt for my girlfriend from target yesterday and I’m still riding that high.
Be very careful with Target. They have one of the most advanced forensic science units in the country and they even offer their services to the FBI. They are well known to let people get away while building a profile until you reach the threshold for felony larceny and then have you thrown in prison.
Yeah I don’t fuck with target. This is why we need this comm. to educate our comrades. To get nice things or things they can’t live without. And not becoming a felon or going to jail.
If raddle (lmao) can have a shoplifting forum without getting swatted, then I don't see why Hexbear can't
At my workplace we have someone come in to restock our vending machines once every few weeks. When they left for a few minutes I was able to yoink some sunchips before they were put in the machine
Yes, please. My partner and I shoplift a decent bit and while I'm far from an expert, there are some pretty easy mode ways to save some money (but there's absolutely always a risk)
That would be something useful for poor people
it won't happen here
we've been asking for a poverty finance comm for months, never any response until TC said one would be coming soon, then she disappeared
yet the stonks comm was created in seconds
:thonk:makes you think about the class character of the people in charge
I’m totally in support of c/povertyfinance too. Mods we need more poverty discussion comms and less terminally online comms.
Yep we just talked about it, we are going to reorganize and use /finance for this instead of like meme stocks and shit. Poverty finance is way more relatable
What will that actually look like? Will you guys remove stonk posts and/or encourage them to another sub?
The WSB stuff was really annoying when it took over hexbear for a weekend, but since it's been contained to c/finance it hasn't been bothersome.
Not sure yet but I agree it was very annoying when it wasn’t contained
What about shoplifting? Is that worthy of a separate comm or would it fit in with c/povertyfinance?
Personally I believe that should be fine on the finance sub we we’ve yet to work it out.
i just had an idea, what if we repurposed the shrek pornography comm into the povertyfinance comm? This solution kills two stones with one bird so the mods don't need to go through the trouble of making a new comm, and we can also get rid of the shrek pornography comm
it is not a shrek pornography community !shrekland@hexbear.net is for shrek fans, roleplayers, and "shrek".
source: i am mod of !shrekland@hexbear.net
I like the idea of a povertyfinance, but I don't like the name. c/cheapliving or c/frugal sound better to me. But either way, it's a good idea for a comm. Practical advice, not necessarily political but still compatible with leftism, and it those subreddits are popular on R*ddit.
Finance was supposed to be turned into poverty finance after the game stop stuff died down. Dunno what happened to thay.
just use !finance@hexbear.net and claim it for the people, I believe in you.
that is what I did to !shrekland@hexbear.net and I am now a moderator. my account is only 11 days old
jus sayin
I just don't think we should be segregating comrades by class on this site. It's internalized capitalism. :deeper-sadness:
i am sick of every fucking time something that would actually be useful for those of us not financially comfortable is brought up, it's ignored or someone makes a dumb fucking joke about it
my account name is shitbird, but my response was sincere, unlike my shitposting.
or maybe the out of touch pmc could actually make the fucking comm
it isn't fucking hard
if you're talking about the survey from a few days ago, then that figure for bourgeois is a little off.
The op of that post forgot to include duplication checking when creating the survey, so people were allowed to vote more than once. I actually voted three times, once for my actual class, and then I put in bourgeois twice trying to check if it had a mechanism to prevent people from voting more than once. I didn't think it would just let me do that, sorry about messing up the survey. It's possible other people voted more than once as well
edit: here is the survey i'm talking about: https://www.strawpoll.me/42948440/r
