i think you should do it.
Are you going to try a VTT? or Theater of mind?
I'm playing my current game on Roll20, which looks like it works with CoC, but I also found some other VTTs like Foundry or i forget the one they use for the West Marches 3.5e Campaign.
Some are free, some are free for the program, but you gotta buy the rule set, and some aren't that cheap.
Problem is I can only really advise for 5e, I dont know how much support there is for CoC, but I'm sure I saw the rule set available for FoundryVTT ($50). I also know of MapTools, but I have no experience with that, and for that and Foundry, the players have to connect to you like an old fashioned Multiplayer server.
What ruleset would you be using? CoC 7e, Delta Green, Cthulhu Dark/Deep Green, or something else?
EDIT: Here's a link to some fan-made materials that may be helpful for running a modern CoC/DG sandboxy campaign. They're based on Night's Black Agents "conspyramid" and Blades in the Dark's crew sheet/downtime actions: Reddit Link
EDIT2: Whether or not you use Delta Green, you can probably find a lot of inspiration in the tons of free "shotgun scenarios" on the Fairfield Project.
I'm interested, yeah. Haven't played CoC before, though. I would have to know the schedule before I can fully commit to it, though.
Never played CoC before but I'd love to try. I have fairly open availability except for Saturday nights cause I got a pathfinder game then.
I saw you said it's fine brew so suggestions on which books to read to get an idea of the system?
And yes I'm sure its going to be a fine brew as well as a home brew.
Depends on the timing and frequency would love to give it a go
