Its incredibly sad how pervasive this view is in the West. I have broader tinfoil theories as to why...but it's sad, cause unless something changes we won't see the necessary actions to improve anything anytime soon.

Yes agreed. There is no good side in this conflict. This doesn't mean we should be even critically supporting any of the sides.
Been reading a few western articles analysing stuff in China and I'm always struck how forced the conclusiosn seem and how western experts struggle coming up with explanation why this or that happened. Its really weird, cause it's like they don't want to acknowledge Marxism or admit it exists, or not even know about it when it perfectly explains the situation. To be fair, I also know people in law/international politics that have zero knowledge of ideologies... Idk it's weird.
