:deeper-sadness:

Edit: turns out cilantro apparently taste like coriander seeds, which I like. Weird phenomenon.

But, I don't usually get drunk. Like, yeah I like to drink socially, but I don't have a social life actually and I don't get drunk.

I don't really mean alcoholism but I do think there is an association that gets built between the flavor and the sensation that accounts for why so many people grow to like beer

I hate every sensation of alcohol but I love some flavors just only exist in alcohol form, like tequila. Gimme a basic bitch old-school margarita any day

That is a fascinating position, especially with tequila of all drinks. I'm sure there are many people who feel that way but countless more who are exactly opposite

Some flavors just sort of run together into one continuous thing that tastes much better than the gross half. That sort of sweet pear-y peppery spice is tasty, and that blends seamlessly into the alcohol sensations, and then that blends into the spice and bitter of lime/grapefruit and cointreau. I also hate the sensation of being drunk so that's why the flavor matters so much, it's literally the only thing I care about in alcoholic drinks lol

I feel the same way about diet soda, artificial sweeteners all have horrible aftertastes, but grapefruit soda has that little bit of bitterness that melds with it and stops it from sucking.
