The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are made by a Ukrainian company and set in the Eastern Bloc, but it's about mercenaries raiding an irradiated zone, so it doesn't have the same post-apocalyptic world vibe. I still enjoyed the games, and maybe the developer could do a Fallout-style game next.
Since S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has taken ten years at this point (but is coming out this year), I wouldn't count on the developer releasing a Fallout clone set in the Eastern Bloc anytime soon.
It has potential to be really really really cool in whatever era you set it, but there is 99,999999% chance they end up making some enormous garbage.
Oh god yeah libs should stick to what they know. Anything they try to do involving stuff outside of the imperial core is almost always pure cringe

Stalker is actually in my backlog. I’m churning through a bunch of crpgs but I definitely intend to check it and the metro series out soon
I forgot about Metro! Those are great, especially the Last Light remaster, if you're into stealth. Metro: Exodus is in my backlog.
Yeah exodus was on the top for the day on 1337x.to the other day and reminded me I need to play those
Last Light making the Communists the bad guys is :LIB:
That goes without saying and is the default in 99% of media, sadly. Maybe that will improve, playing Disco Elysium was a breath of fresh air.
