Me two hours ago: okay I need to go to work tomorrow, so I'm just gonna spend a few minutes sketching the basic figure then go to bed.

Me now: just a few more details...

I should pick up drawing. Arguing with people is boringgg

That's drawing. If you put it down you may not be in the same headspace as you were when you put it down and especially if you're doing more abstact stuff where the brain is is crucial. Also your figure drawings have been great. I just really don't know how to provide good critique without being there and being able to point at small things or sketch what i'm talking about. It did also lead me tobrushing up on my anatomy again cause holy fuck it has slipped since I started going way off the rails and I lost a lot of skill at realism. One thing I did notice is that I would love to teach you some shading, yours isn't bad but it's my jam and i could give you fun pointers if I were there.

Aww thanks 😊 I think if I start drawing figures without directly referencing another image you'd find something to critique pretty quickly haha. There's a lot of stuff, especially with shading /value where I really have trouble intuiting/visualizing things.

Haha don't worry, I'm not gonna badger you every time I draw something. This is just reps.

I might make another post when I feel like I've gotten a good chance to try and implement the previous lessons a few times and get a feel for what's clicking and what isn't.

You can always check in. Gotta make sure you’re doing the practices right.

Appreciate the open offer. Main thing I'm having a lot of trouble with is getting my arm movements to be precise. I end up cheating and using my wrist for things if I screw up like five passes in a row trying to draw a curve. But I think that might just be a matter of developing muscle memory.

Go slow. Also, it’s a matter of how big you work. I would have to see HOW youre making the lines to go any further in my advice.
