Kind of an interesting community. Very small with apparently tons of divergent opinions, ranging from "we are genetically superior to southerners" to "the American empire is dying and balkanization is one small step to communism".

I don't see what's inherently wrong with the idea since pretty much everyone on this website wants America to fall apart.

The participants seem to confuse "center of finance capital" with "center of use-value creation", what with their "look at all the rich people in my state" and "look at how many people moved to a state that's basically the suburbs of another state" posts. It looks like a glorified New Englander circlejerk to me. That's before you touch on the fact that these folks are even more fringe than the Cascadianistas, Free Staters, and Texas Secessionists.

Geographically dictated isolationism combined with free flow of finance capital doesn't benefit Leftists in any meaningful way. Hard borders are something the west imposes on socialist states through economic sanction and military occupation, not something leftists reap any material benefit from.

The whole project of secession serves to alienate and isolate individuals from one another. It does nothing to undermine capitalist institutions.
