another clue in this engine is when textures start to incorrectly load (usually this will only happen with mods/hd texture packs). but instead of actually keeping track of ram use my general rule of thumb is just to completely reload a bethesda game whenever i get up to do something you'd simply pause for in a normal game, like a piss or a snack
