Hey ho. Looking for players of any level of experience interested in playing the classic D&D module Pharaoh!, an ancient Egypt-themed adventure where the party treks through endless sands, raids ancient pyramids, and does battle with a powerful Efreet.

Pharaoh is the first part of the Desert of Desolation trilogy, which was my own introduction to D&D about 12 years ago. While I plan to run them all eventually don't feel like you have to commit to the whole lot, for now I'm just focusing on the first chapter.

I'm planning to organize over Discord and run it over FoundryVTT, which means the only thing you need as a player is an internet browser and a microphone. If you're interested post in this thread and I'll send out Discord links tomorrow.

5e, though the module dates back to 1e so I've been updating it.

Fuck yeah! I actually had a Paladin of Horus character I was working on but honestly I didn't really have much of a plan for RPing him beyond "I beseech the wisdom of Horus" and flexing my amateur knowledge of Old Kingdom Egyptology but I had him fit better in mind in a place that wasn't Egypt. Hmmm... Any particular limits/guidelines as to what we our characters are like?

The adventure takes place in Forgotten Realms, in which the Egyptian gods exist. The adventure actually features some religious strife between the Raurini and the Durpari, the latter of whom are converting people to their new religion (they worship a god called Anu, but it seems that's been retconned at some point because I can't find any information about him) and smashing ancient temples, so a character like that would be a pretty good fit.

Eh. I also just found him kind of boring because he's the standard "lawful good smiteabitch paladin" with a bit of Horus and Ptah and Neith tossed in there. Not particularly interesting to be honest. Trying to remember what other characters I have cooked up... I got "Ex cop who learned that hard way that ALL cops are bastards, including himself", "Not Old Man McGucket", and "Not Mr. Torgue"
