buddy look at this thread, fucking no one is more critical of the white billionaire than me. nothing i said could even imply im defending the billionaire. im defending normal people who enjoy pop culture and music and media aimed at woman. i just think engaging in popculture is normal and yeah its pretty obviously misogynistic why things that are popular with teenage girls get the most vitriol on here. like how if some one hates rap music and goes into rap based communities to be agro and insult all fans of rap its a safe bet to say that person is anti black. also THAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS SUB! to trigger people like you.

the only vitriol is coming from you lol, i made a very mild criticism of the absolute freakish behavior captured in the OP, just saying "you know, if I was taylor swift I would be very uncomfortable with posts like these"

if this post was about taylor swift's music i would never have even commented. you can like whatever music you want. it's being creepy toward random stranger women that im criticizing, and somehow that makes me a misogynist?

it's weird to know things about an extremely popular artist? Or is it weird to engage with pop culture in general?

I think it's weird to know more than maybe some fun factoids, like that Trent Reznor's family owns one of the biggest HVAC companies in the US and you can see heaters with "Reznor" on the side in like every Home Depot. I think know intimate details about everything they've done since high school is not healthy.

Wait is this the origin of the name Nine Inch Nails? He just spent a lot of time in hardware stores while his dad pointed out HVAC units and prattled on about the family legacy?

honestly the latter, pop culture has sucked ever since they stopped letting bands into the music industry and the streaming economy killed netflix. literally no reason to keep up with it any more

i think it's weird to know anything about the personality or personal life of a complete stranger whose music you like, yeah. i think it's weird and creepy and im not a fan of it.

i have people whose works of art i appreciate, but i dont know or want to know about their personal lives. they're not my friends. theyre not my associates. they're strangers who make things i enjoy. we dont have a relationship.

What if the music is about their personal life?

someone saying something in a song does not mean it's literally a true fact about their life. the only way you learn that is if you go beyond the art

they're strangers who make things i enjoy. we dont have a relationship.

This is the media equivalent of preferring DoorDash to eating at a restaurant. People should want to learn about an artist and the context behind the art they enjoy.

Art is labor. It inherently facilitates a relationship between the audience and the artist. We ought to be able to learn about an artist and the context behind their art without forming some sort of unhealthy parasocial attachment, and if not, it is important to understand what's preventing us from doing so.

I mean sure, if you say so, but I'm criticizing the parasocial attachment fundamentally, everybody else here is going way off the rails

This is an odd stance to take on the taylor swift comm. Like do you go into the comms for video games and tell them that games are a waste of time? Or into the movie comm to tell them movies are stupid? Or is it only the gossip one you find objectionable?

how often do posts on the games comm involve weird deification of specific game developers?

            hasan-ok-dude

Last time Kojima was brought up on hexbear, it was to shit on him. The time before that it was a post of a video he released recommending movies or some shit. The time before that it was to make a joke about the kind of art he makes. The time before that it was to make a joke about the kind of art he makes. The time before that (12 days ago) it was to make a joke about the kind of art he makes.

Would you like to point to a single post on this site which actually demonstrates your point, or would you like to admit you don't actually have a point?

Posts about kojima include rumors about who he's hanging out, discussions of his hobbies, long videos of his personal story, etc, etc, etc. You are simply wrong, and you are being a weird, weird debate-bro to try to cover up the fact that you are being wrong. And it's a weird fucking tactic to take to point out that someone doesn't have a point when stirpped to the studs you've got nothing to say except "Your interests are bad"

I'm not wrong I was literally looking at every recent mention of Kojima on Hexbear, here, look for yourself, it is literally precisely what I described because all I did was describe what I was looking at

And it's a weird fucking tactic to take to point out that someone doesn't have a point when stirpped to the studs you've got nothing to say except "Your interests are bad"

Some interests are bad, yeah, what can I say? shrug-outta-hecks If your "interests" involved peeping in your neighbors' windows or eavesdropping on people in restaurants or compiling information about the local gyani or any other weird invasion of strangers' personal lives then I would say those interests are bad too

                Read a book

                watch a movie

                go to a museum

                touch a grass

i dont care what you do, but if it involves putting strangers on weird pedestals then you're weird and you should stop it

Hey if it was an admin who did this and not one of you sorry for the ping, but excuse me, what the hell? I did not imply anything of the sort. I was specifically calling out someone else for implying that. Remove the comments of the person calling me a misogynist for thinking that women shouldn't be creeped on.
