I never viewed it as mocking someone for just reading it but rather obsessing over it and comparing it to real life events, like the iron dome thing. I liked all of the books as a kid but I'm able to see all of its flaws in retrospect, however categorizing politicians with Hogwarts houses as a 30 year old is kind of sad in my opinion, especially when it's almost always Harry Potter.
