Just read about this after seeing your post and had a realization I’ve been through one of these a few years ago without realizing.
Interviewed for a douchey little startup where they grilled me really aggressively, I thought they were just run of the mill dickheads and I ended the interview early after being subjected to some ridiculous brain teaser. Turns out they were actually just sadists!
well it's a good thing they weren't actually assholes, and instead just manipulative sociopaths. :capitalist-laugh:

I had a stress interview when I was 17, though I didn't know that's what it was called at the time. The interviewer told me to choose a topic from this random list that had nothing to do with what I was interviewing for, then just attacked anything I said about the topic for several minutes. It was a completely pointless exercise. Managed to pass the interview, no idea how though.
