Weird I grew up with pot farmers and I'm pushing 40 and never heard it till like this year. Maybe a regional thing? Or maybe we just called anything less than the good shit we grew shwag.

Yeah lol that's probably why. People these days are like "man weed has gotten so much more potent" and I'm like what the fuck have yall been smoking?

Depends on what's standard for you. It generally referred to not great but not terrible pot, generally you would not get a strain name or anything. Most people can get good quality weed now so mids aren't really anything so much now.

Yeah, it can be a bit hard to pin down what's "not great but not terrible". As far as i see it, with today's weed that involves a bit more than just "this stuff is really potent." To me, outstanding weed or hash is stuff that's well-balanced, that has a lot of THC, but also enough CBD to keep it mellow even if you're really fucking high. While at the same time, it never gets into "sluggish" territory, where you just get sleepy and slow if you smoke a lot. But there's people who'd call that kind of stuff mids, and who regard only the most brutal, pure sativas as dank. Then there's all the stuff besides the direct effects - taste and aroma being the main factor here. Or if you get really thicc buds or just shake, if it's fresh or dry, but that's not a question of what plant we're talking about, it's a question of how old that bag of weed is.

I don't care enough about it to get into any of that. I get fine weed in a wide variety for dirt cheap and that's good enough.
