they ripped it off the hinges and everything. this is his second flag to get stolen. hes such a sweet guy. im gonna fucking buy another flag. im gonna buy a camera or something too.

Definitely buy a camera too. It's unfortunately illegal but it would be funny to put spikes or something at the base of the flag so they poke themselves if they rip it off again.
I wonder if there's a way you can reinforce it somehow with like cables or something. Sew them into the seams so the guy can't rip it off or even cut it off.

Alternatively, they could electrify it. Like an electric fence, but for the flag pole.
Our pride yard flag went missing like 2 years ago and when we replaced it we tied the little flag pole to a piece of PVC piping that came up out of the ground in the yard with plastic twine so that if anyone tried to take it again they'd hopefully drop it or fall down when the twine went taut and get embarrassed and run off.
So far it hasn't happened again so our countermeasures have not been, I guess they thought we'd just give up the first time they stole it?
