Authorities in Vietnam have detected a new coronavirus variant that is a combination of the Indian and UK COVID-19 variants and spreads quickly by air, the health minister said on Saturday.
This is why mass vaccination hoarding is so bad, Vietnam has done a spectacular job fending off the virus but it doesn't mean there won't ever be an outbreak there of some form. It's really shitty that the US isn't pivoting now to to distributing vaccinations to front line workers all around the world. China, Russia and Cuba have however stepped up quite a bit in this regard and are donating some to counties in need. The US has falling rates of vaccinations and also hoarding the materials needed to make vaccinations :amerikkka:
